The Puerto Rican Woodpecker is endemic to Puerto Rico and is the only common woodpecker found on the island. It can be seen in forests, mangroves and coffee plantations, but it also occurs in palm groves, parks, and gardens, from the coast to the mountains. The pin was inspired in a specimen seen at Hacienda La Esperanza, in Manatí.
