This manual on agricultural-urban crops explains and illustrates how any citizen can start growing vegetables and fruit trees in the city.
We begin by explaining the basic fundamentals of growing vegetables and how to take into consideration aspects of the urban environment that can influence the development of these crops.
For beginners, we explain how to develop an urban agricultural crop in five steps and then explain where and how we can grow vegetables in front, side or back yards of our properties, as well as growing on roofs, rooftops, terraces, balconies, walls and even in the interiors of buildings.
We are introduced to urban agroforestry showing a great variety of fruit trees from the tropics and how we can incorporate them into the city.
Some technologies of ecological agriculture are presented and how we can incorporate this knowledge in an urban agroecology.
Finally, we conclude with a reflection on the future of how we should cultivate and develop in an urban agroecosystem.
