The book La Buena Vista will take you on a historical tour of the property bearing the same name, located in the southern mountainous area of Puerto Rico. This property was at its peak during the 19th century; it was a hacienda that supplied food to Ponce and nearby plantations. Buena Vista was also a center of corn production and a coffee plantation.  In this book, Guillermo Baralt highlights the changes that marked Hacienda Buena Vista during an important period of Caribbean history. It is worth mentioning that in 1992, the book won the Elsa Goveia Award from the Association of Caribbean Historians.
