Known for its showy pink flowers, the white oak (Tabebuia heterophylla) grows in virtually any soil on the island, including dry or humid forests. Its ability to flower is ample, as it grows mostly in degraded or abandoned soils. Its leaf is composed of five leaflets that can reach a length of 6 to 12 inches. When it begins to bloom, it loses its leaves, but one of them flew off and decided to plant itself on this T-shirt.
